Lagoa kiosks (I suggest the "Arab") are a wonderful choice. Quality food & drinks at reasonable price... the marvellous Lagoa (Lagoon) mirror, the breeze.

The Arab is on the "Jardim Botânico" side of the Lagoa, by the Jockey Club wall on a site today called "Parque dos Patins". Easy parking; midway from the Rebouças Tunnel (route to/from the city's North Zone) and the expressway (not so "express", indeed) to Barra da Tijuca.
Ipanema, Leblon, Copacabana: 15-min taxi ride.
Big "ombrellones" are available in case it rains.
General food available besides the humus b'tahine and kafta diet.

It is possible to make reservations but, as the venue is very informal, it's wiser (and simpler) to have someoena arrive a bit earlier (by 5pm) and arrange for an "expandable" site: tables being added as people arrive. ▲ Collapse

Gente, Leblon, Ipanema, Lagoa são tão perto. Quem vai a um desses lugars, vai ao outro. Gosto da opção do Arab da Lagoa porque é aberto, podemos espandir mesas e talvez ficarmos mais confortáveis. Os bares, tipo Belmonte, são bons também, mas costumam ser mais barulhentos. Qualquer um que decidirem na Zona Sul está ok pra mim.

Powwows are a true opportunity.
I met my business partner at a Powwow, some colleagues contacted me for projects, and I made very good friends, like Alejandra, from Venezuela, just to give an example.

I vote for Fri, Feb 9th, COB at the Arab. I agree with Guilhermo regarding one of us arriving earlier to make room for the others. BTW, I gotta go to BsAs soon... hopefully it'll not happen in the week of the PW.
