franchise agreement
This is from a franchise agreement with a German company specializing in personnel consulting and executive recruitment. The franchisee is a managing partner. I would assume the managing partner would use the name of the franchisor when doing business, and I am assuming that "der" Firmierung should be "die" Firmierung, but I'm not sure if there's some grammatical function that I'm missing.

I agree with you that the sentence should begin with "die" instead of "der," unless I am missing something.
Note that I suggested "is used" instead of "appears," since the word "Firmierung" is translated as the "use of a firm name or corporate name" (Romain/Byrd/Thielecke, 4th edition), and to write "the use of the name appears" seems strange to me.
The term "vis-a-vis third parties" is my standard translation for "nach außen."

Yes, "in the required manner" would certainly work for "in der erforderlichen Weise."
You may be able to rephrase it like "as required," depending on how it sounds in context (i.e., but perhaps not, because it may come across as "nach Bedarf," which would be incorrect).
