"What jumped out at us was a measure called phase-locking. As you'll recall from chapter 4, this pattern of electrical activity reflects the degree to which brain waves - or, more formally, cortical oscillations- become synchronized to an external stimulus. With a high degree of phase-locking, an external stimulus triggers a clear pattern of cortical oscillations that are easy to pick out against the background oscillations - but only if the brain is not a jumble of mind-wandering and thoughts."

Nazwałam je 'oscylacjami ogólnymi', ale mam wątpliwości (oscylacje ogólne stanowiące tło dla oscylacji korowych - bardzo rzadko stosowane terminy więc być może to się inaczej nazywa).
