English term

crossing vee

English to Polish Tech/Engineering Transport / Transportation / Shipping interoperacyjność systemów kolejowych w UE
Dotyczy interoperacyjności systemów kolejowych w UE, podsystem "Infrastruktura".

Actual point (RP) - Physical end of a crossing vee. (See figure 2, which shows the relationship between the actual point (RP) and the intersection point (IP)).

Common crossing - Arrangement ensuring intersection of two opposite running edges of turnouts or diamond crossings and having one crossing vee and two wing rails.

Point retraction - The reference line in a fixed common crossing can deviate from the theoretical reference line. From a certain distance to the crossing point, the reference line of the vee can, depending on the design, be retracted from this theoretical line away from the wheel flange in order to avoid contact between both elements.
