Originally the CFB boiler was equipped with two start-up burners and two bed lances on the
sidewalls. The pitch system was installed in 1993, with bed lances of Foster Wheeler design. The
number of bed lances was increased to five in 1994. All the lances are located in the dense bed region and
directed 30 degrees downwards to the horizontal position.
