: ale bez těch pralinek. Dřív se prodávaly bombóny s lanýovou náplní (ale houby v ní NEBYLY), dnes se tento název asi u neuívá. Alespoň si nevzpomínám, e bych to v posledních letech v obchodě viděla.

Thanks, Jirina. Ak "truffle", tak ako ich volaju a pripravuju vo Francuzsku, ani jeden z nas nema pravdu. Jasne ze sa nejedna o hriby, ci prichut. Bohuzial , truffle su hriby a pralinka v podobe gulky ako hrib v prenesenom vyzname.

: First, we need to skip pralinky. And what is left would be inaccurate because pom. plnka is orange filling and that is usually sugary mass without chocolate. As far as I am concerned, orange truffle is creamy chocolate infused with orange essence/liquer.

There is an option to use "truffle" in the Slovak text with an asterisk (*) and explain the meaning in detail in a footnote on the bottom of the page.

: If it is a product label or such there is not enough room for explanation. And leaving truffle untranslated is not a good idea.

There are many culinary one-word terms that were adopted into Slovak from other languages, because there are no one-word Slovak equivalents and using a detailed description may be awkward (or there may not be enough room, as you said yourself).

: strongly disagree. Using more words to describe an awkward word (such as 'truffle') is much better than leaving it in its original English form, that's for sure.

This is your opinion. It may not necessarily be the right one. If it were, there would not be international words in Slovak vocabulary. "Cudzie slova" have been oficially included in Slovak dictionary because people simply began using them.

Orange truffle is a chocolate. Its center will be infused with orange essence or liquer, but it should still be a chocolate. Therefore it will not be enough to say orange filling, as Pretty recommended. I'd suggest translating it as "chocolate and orange filling" because that what it is - softer, creamy chocolate filling with orange flavor.

Diana, I would like to see you slovakize word \'truffle\' and pronounce it in its phonetic form to make it \'fit\' into Slovak vocabulary. Woudl you really say t-r-u-f-f-l-e? I have nothing against \'cudzie slova\' but they must make sense when adopted into the language in question. Truffle makes no sense if you use it as a cudzie slovo in Slovak language. I hope you see where I am coming from.

: Pralinky jsou jednotlivé čokoládové bombóny s náplní. Spí se jedná o čokoládu s náplní. V tomto případě by asi pomohlo, kdyby s překladem poslali i vzorek.

: Martina, to je velmi dobre vystihnute. Truffle totiz nemaju len jemnu napln, ale niektore z nich maju aj chrumkave kusky akoby pralinky. Tvoj preklad je tiez vhodny a na zamyslenie, nakolko sa jedna o napis na obale ( to sa ovsem len domyslam).
