French term
Charges d'obtention de financements
French to English
Bus/Financial
Accounting
I am trying to translate this term which is the title of a chapter within a report. (Note: fundraising is clearly differentiated in the text). I am hesitating between using:
"Costs for the acquisition of funds (or financing)"
or "Acquisition of Funds Costs" or "financing costs".
I am not sure if there is a term which works better in English.

cost(s) of obtaining financing
Especially in a chapter title, spell it out in plain English. Obtaining financing is a little different from acquiring funds. The former is broader; it can and often will include getting commitments to provide funds in the future (hence not yet acquired).

You DON'T want to say "finance costs" because that would include ongoing interest expense.

Comment: "You're right acquisition and obtaining are a little different. Overall, this worked best."

Another possibility - not sure of your context but this is a very common expression

funding (or financing) acquisition costs
A variant on one your original ideas which avoids the two 'ings' in the "cost(s) of obtaining financing"

Note from asker:
I think funds or funding might eliminate any confusion caused by financing. It is more appropriate in this context. |

In view of your note about the context, how is this as another idea ?
