French term

accord framboise/iris

French to English Marketing Cosmetics, Beauty Perfumes
From a text describing the work of a company specialising in the production of essential oils for the perfume industry.

Le travail sur le bio est aussi un des challenges de Maïa Lernout, avec des eaux de parfums bio contenant de la rose bio d’Iran (accord framboise/iris), du néroli bio, du ciste et du labdanum.

I can't quite see what they're getting at with this "accord framboise/iris" in brackets. Can anyone enlighten me? I think the snow's gone to my brain!

Many thanks

Accord: perfume accords are a balanced blend of three or four notes which lose their individual identity to create a completely new, unified odor impression.

raspberry/iris accord

This is the word used in perfumery in English too, to refer to a blend of different notes.

agree Stephanie Ezrol : or raspberry-iris. I found the - instead of the / in many places. It might read better that way.

Not sure the / doesn't signify a more equal balance than - which might suggest emphasis on the iris. But they may not be being that subtle!

raspberry/iris accord

An accord is a blend of fragrance notes (like a musical harmony). It can be described using the most important notes, as above, or with one terms describing its overall character (an amber accord, a melon accord).
