History
Middle Ages
I translated it as "copying workshops", but am not at all sure if it is the term to be used in this context. What is the best way to say it?

'They' are not obliged to write "scriptorium" in French because another accepted term, "atelier de copie", is available in French. I'm not sure that another satisfactory term is available in English.
