French term

(c)

French to English Medical Medical: Cardiology Drugs
Context:

Gabapentine EG (c) 300mg - Soir : 1. -

Clopidogrel Krka (c) 75mg - Matin : 1. -

Editing a text and translator has used "tablets" for this (c). Reasonable translation.
However the (c) appears after drugs that are in capsule form and even sachets. So not quite such a reasonable idea.
As this is a list of drugs after heart surgery could the (c) indicate "cardiac", as opposed to any other primary use.
TIA Chris.
This is Belgian French.

Discussion

Bashiqa (asker) Jan 15, 2020:
No idea how (c) can indicate "per os". Client asks that it remains as tablets. Clients are always correct.
Drmanu49 Jan 15, 2020:
Effectivement cela devrait être p.o.
Bashiqa (asker) Jan 15, 2020:
@ all Thank you for your questions, and answers.
I checked with client and had the following (strange) reply:
The site indicates that the c indicates “medication taken per os” which can be “comprime” or “capsule”. Both options are valid depending on the drug. I did tell you that it Was Belgian!
Drmanu49 Jan 14, 2020:
All these drugs come as comprimés, comprimé gastro-résistant, comprimés pelliculés, comprimé sécable.
Bashiqa (asker) Jan 14, 2020:
@ Manu Atacand (c) 16mg - Matin : 1. -
Totalip (c) 20 mg - Soir : 2. -
Asaflow (c) 80mg - Matin : 1. -
Pantomed (c) 40mg - Matin : 1. -
Drmanu49 Jan 14, 2020:
I doubt (c) would stand for cardiac considering the primary use of these two. What are the other drugs?
Bashiqa (asker) Jan 14, 2020:
@ Tony If there was a sign after the drug name it would usually be the R for Registered not C for copyright, and why not use generic?
Tony M Jan 14, 2020:
@ Asker Are you sure / can you check if this isn't just the 'copyright' symbol, being used to indicate that this is the proprietary name of each drug, as distinct from the generic?
