Hi, I would be grateful if anyone could help me translate these few words. The context is as follows: there are two people waiting at the top floor of an apartment block and a lift (which contains someone that they're running away from) is rising upwards towards then. Then it says:
"Al final, cuando asomó su cima, la cabina renqueó y al final se detuvo".
Does this mean "when the top of the lift came into view" or "when the lift reached the top"?
