APOSENTILLO

Spanish to English Other Religion RELIGIÓN/ESPAÑA XIV
Buenas tardes,

Jeff

Not to whine about it, but I gave you the answer first...

Other forums I belong to seem to agree with Ana Belen; small chamber gives the most results in searches. 'Cell' also seems to be a popular translation.
Un saludo desde Madrid,
Jeff

small chamber

small room / small chamber

For your context, chamber might be more appropriate.
Note from asker:
I'm very sorry, David. I didn't mean to ignore your answer- I'm still getting used to the forum. Whining seems in order here! Thank you David and Ana Belen!

cell

Already the name implies small and it's what monks to this day call their bedrooms. We tend to hinkk of it as a prisonners room, but it's also a monastery bedroom.
Peer comment(s):

agree AllegroTrans : if the context is monks, this is most appropriate
