The department for in process controls performs checks on foil weight (thickness) and weight
of coating. The balances get a daily check and a regular formal calibration by the
manufacturer/supplier. Gas chromatography is used to check on residual solvents. The
qualification relies on a regular run of a calibration mixture with the solvents of concern. Only
simple solvents (alcohol, some ketons) are used. Heating cabinets have calibrated temperature
control but no qualification on temperature distribution profile. The cabinets are rather small
and in view of the application of the cabinets the situation is regarded to be satisfactory
