The adjusted model controlled for age, ethnicity, geographic region, prior use of osteoporosis medications, baseline comorbidity (yes/no), history of fragility fractures after age 40, the number of falls in the past year, current (at baseline) chronic diseases that may affect osteoporosis/fracture risk (diabetes type II, rheumatoid arthritis), tobacco use, enrolment in the Lilly Patient Support Program (PSP), and BMI.
