tempoh optima penggunaan
instead of 'pemakaian' 'penggunaan' is preferred if you are referring to optical equipment in this context.

The word 'pakai' is used when someone is wearing contact lenses.
The word 'guna' is used to describe a user of contact lens.
In doing tranlations, there is a tendency to translate word for word (2) rather than give 'meanings' to phrases. For e.g. 'terima kasih' should not be translated into 'accept my love'.
For the whole sentence (not phrase), 'Tempoh pemakaian adalah berbeda diantara pesakit', would suffice and carry the same meaning in the Malay language.
