English term

carrier-like layered double hydroxide

English to Russian Medical Medical (general)
From "Nanoparticles: a boon to drug delivery, therapeutics, diagnostics and imaging" by Parveen et al. (2012)
=====================
Currently many other metal-based NPs, as well as various
hybrid surface-functionalized NPs, are being extensively used
for drug-delivery applications. New hybrid systems consisting of
anticancer drugs, such as methotrexate (MTX) or 5-fluorouracil
(5-FU) and carrier-like layered double hydroxide (LDH), which
are inorganic vectors with biocompatible metal ions, were
developed by Choi et al. These LDH NPs demonstrated
sustained drug release, prolonged drug half-life and increased
drug accumulation in targeted tumor tissue.

Здесь просто имеется в виду, что этот самый LDH подобен белку-переносчику (без уточнения, по функции или по структуре)

Thank you, Natalie! This "carrier-like" part really stumped me.
