I am translating notes from a training meeting of the European Works Council of a multinational company. In this particular case, the EWC is called ‘’European Communication Forum’’.

Here’s the context:
‘’ Notes from Company XXX European Communication Forum – Training meeting
Present: All employee elected representatives; all management representatives; Mr AAA, Consultant; Ms YYY, Consultant)
Purpose of meeting:
To provide basic training, information and familiarisation on the European EWC Directive, the Company XXX European Communication Forum and interpretation of the EWC Agreement.
Notes:
The group received a presentation from Mr AAA, outlining the history and development of EWC Agreements since the 1994 EWC Directive was passed. The Directive allows the social partners to develop solutions suited to local circumstances, and leaves it to member States to determine the way in which representatives are elected. It was noted that the purpose of the Directive is to improve information provision and consultation on community scale businesses.

The meeting then discussed how the Forum could develop and add value to Company XXX, recognising that it offered an opportunity to develop communication, build trust and understanding and promote the values.
• Consideration will be given to creating a branding for Forum communication
• A Teamroom will be set for access to documents, agenda papers etc
• An Intranet page for each location will be investigated, or a link to a centralised site, bearing in mind the need to ensure documents of note are available in appropriate languages’’.


I can’t make out the meaning of the word ‘’branding’’ as used in the first bulleted point. Is this about creating a brand name for the purposes of communication?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
