French term

bois carmelé

French to English Other Forestry / Wood / Timber furniture making

the document concerns an infringement suit, so I'm afraid that's all the context I have

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed - I can't find carmelé anywhere!

fluted wood

agree Anna Quail : "cannelé" is what I immediately thought too. If this is handwritten, or copied from a handwritten source, it is highly likely.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks to all - there are two documents to this job, and while neither are handwritten, they of course must refer to handwritten notes. The second document contains a reference to "bois cannele" ... Many thanks to all "

caramel coloured wood

Peer comment(s):

neutral Jennifer Levey : the term is 'carmelé' not 'caramélisé'

Carmel wood

Seems to be a type of oak finish, but looks like teak to me...

Looking further, it does seem that "carmel" might be just a corruption of "caramel", which supports Kate Hudson's answer also.
