à l'esprit dans ce contexte précis, l'expression pourrait venir ici du domaine sportif, comme dans "faire forfait"=abandonner, ne pas se présenter
il se pourrait donc que les actionnaires ne se rendent pas aux assemblées generales d'actionnaires...
