Strictly speaking, 'législatif' = 'legislative', but because the text is talking about elections to a national body, 'parliamentary' is more apt.

I put \'Spanish\' in brackets because the word was not in the original request, but it had to be included because of the diffrences between French and English word order.

Parliamentary general election.....but you don't need to use the word Parliament because it's a known fact. I assume the article will go on to talk about those lessons.
