French term

presse étoupe

French to English Tech/Engineering Physics cryostat
This is an ULTRA HIGH VACUUM
HELIUM CRYOSTAT WITH A SUPERCONDUCTING COIL

I have choices of "stuffing box", "cable gland" or "packing gland" at the moment. Can anyone confirm what the correct term is here in this context only?

Selected

sealing gland

...would be my way of expressing this idea in this sort of context (though I don't have any specialist knowledge of this specific field)

The idea of 'gland' is quite important (i.e. it grips cable, pipe etc.)
And since it clearly is performming a sealing function...
