This is nowadays known as a "paramiltary wing/unit/group/section..." of the main organisation. I haven't heard "commando" used to describe this recently.

I'd definitiely avoid any use of "command/commando" here because these imply regular army groups, not illegal paramilitary narco-terrorist armed units. Just my opinion.
