Bolagsverket's official translation I was searching for this term as well and found that Bolagsverket (the Swedish Companies Registration Office) has an official example of how the fastställelseintyg should read in English. They refer to this statement as: "Certification of annual report".

Perfect! You're a genius, MC. I have to admit that annual reports are not my normal area of expertise, nor indeed my cup of tea really, but I've done a few and I just finished one yesterday and sent it in. I opted for your latest suggestion "Adoption of Financial Statements", a reasonable paraphrase and over 500,000 hits on Google. (There was also an explanatory paragraph under the term in my document). In the end, I couldn't find a direct equivalent to "fastställseintyg" and have my doubts whether one actually exists. Probably a somewhat dated term I agree, Edward, that in a "normal" context, Certificate of Adoption would trigger an association to, well, adoption. It's probably an old-fashioned way of putting it (it's been 3 years, after all;)). When I look at the Adoption of Accounts option, I have to wonder if maybe that too is dated? Perhaps Adoption of Financial Statements is most accurate these days. Ideas? Suggestions? And definitely - directly translations are seldom ideal. Have to think outside the box.
