I need some help regarding Latin words and roots. Could anyone recommend any comprehensive dictionary in which there are explanations in English for Latin prefix, suffix, roots and words? and in particular when the word or root is coined please?
Many thanks

You might order a used copy of _Our Greek and Latin Roots_ by James Morwood and Mark Warman (Cambridge, 1990) from one of the online booksellers. But for a date for the first use of a word containing the Latin word element, you'll have to look at an edition of the Oxford English Dictionary. I hope this is what you meant by "when the word or root is coined."
Hope this is some help. Best, Stiva
