Source text - English The biggest culprit is crystallized sugar from sugar cane and sugar beet, but
other products such as high fructose corn syrup, used predominantly in food
manufacturing, have added to the problem. While all BAD SUGAR comes from
natural sources, it is far from natural by the time we come to consume it. The
refining process is very similar to the way the coca plant is refined into cocaine,
or poppy seeds refined into heroin. Starting with a sugar cane plant, the refining
strips away its fibre, vitamins and minerals, leaving behind a white, crystalline
substance that is very sweet and soluble and can, therefore, be easily added to
other foods to deceive us into thinking that we are eating foods that are good.
Remember, our instincts drive us towards sweet, fresh, nutritious fruit and
vegetables.
Translation - Persian (Farsi) مشکل اصلی در این میان، همان شکر کریسالیزه‌شدۀ گرفته‌شده از نیشکر و چغندر قند است؛ هرچند انواع شربت‌ها و نوشیدنی‌ها که فروکتوز بالایی را در خود دارند و غالباً در تولید غذا از آنها استفاده می‌شود بر آن مشکل افزوده‌اند. درحالی‌که تمامی شکرهای بد از منابع طبیعی استخراج می‌شوند، اما مصرف آنها توسط ما بسیار غیرطبیعی است. فرآیند پالودن یا تصفیه‌کردن شکر بسیار شبیه فرآیندی است که به موجب آن کاکائو را از درخت کاکائو می‌گیرند یا شبیه همان فرآیندی که دانه‌های خشخاش را به هروئین تبدیل می‌کنند. تصفیه‌کردن یا پالودن شکر موجب می‌شود فیبر، ویتامین و مواد مغذیومقوی موجود در منبع آن _ چغندرقند و نیشکر _ از بین بروند و در عوض مادۀ سفیدی به جای می‌ماند که هم بسیار شیرین است و هم بسیار مضر و خطرناک؛ همچنین از آنجایی‌که آن ماده، هم حل‌پذیر است و هم مزۀ شیرینی دارد به غذاها افزوده می‌شود و در نهایت ما را این‌گونه ذهن‌شویی می‌کند که خیال کنیم غذای خوب و ویژه‌ای را می‌خوریم. به خاطر داشته باشید که غریزۀ ما، ما را به خوردن سبزیجات و میوه‌های آبدار وشیرین و سرشار از مواد مغذیومقوی سوق می‌دهد.
