With Alt+down you navigate to the next untranslated segment, while adding the previously translated segment to the translation memory.

Since CafeTran allows you to treat tags as normal text, you can build your own Alt+down replacement that is tailor-made for your specific needs.

You can use AutoHotkey (Windows) or Keyboard Maestro (Mac) for this. In CafeTran you navigate to Edit > Options > Keyboard shortcuts and map Add segment to memory and go to next segment

In CafeTran you navigate to Edit > Options > Keyboard shortcuts and map Add segment to memory and go to next segment to Control+Alt+down.

In AutoHotkey or Keyboard Maestro you create a macro that is triggered by Alt+down and that calls Control+Alt+down plus all the extra actions that you want to perform on every new segment.

Likely candidates are:

  • Case modifications (e.g. make the first letter after a tag or quote uppercase)
  • Adding bullets or text strings
  • Do some cleaning
  • Remove all tags, without replacing them with spaces
    etc. ▲ Collapse
