I'm applying to an agency that asks for three work samples in my languages of expertise. I save all my projects on my computer, so finding samples is no problem. Here is the issue: Most of my source files are in Adobe Acrobat form and they have personal information on them. (I've translated plenty of birth certificates.)

I know that I would need to cover up the personal details before submitting my application. How can I convert the source documents in to Microsoft Word format? (Is it possible to cover up something like date of birth in an AA file?) ▲ Collapse

1.- Print the original. 2.- Obliterate all identifying information with a black marker. 3.- Scan those originals with the identifying information obliterated. 4.- Send along with translations, with the identifying information also obliterated.

Export via Clipboard

Try Edit | Copy File to Clipboard or Edit | Select All | Edit | Copy, then open a new doc file and Edit | Paste, to paste the clipboard content.
The process converts line breaks into hard carriage returns. There is a way to remove most of them but since you're to review the text to remove unwanted information you're better off Searching paragraph marks (^p) and Replacing them with a blank one by one and skipping those that don't need to be removed.
Hope that helps
