I run MS Office 2010 on my Windows 7 (64 bits) desktop computer: Words, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
I would like to install MS Publisher 2003, from an older MS Office 2003 Enterprise version on my previous computer, but I would be sure that it won't mess up with all my settings.
I have all the DVDs and licence keys. Any recommendation ?

Office XP and Office 2007 running OK under W7
Jan 30, 2014
I am currently running Office XP under W7, having installed it after the version of Office 2007 that was already on there, and it seems to work fine (2007 appears to be usable, even though I only use Office XP)
The only snag I found is that opening a .doc file, for example, tries to start 2007, which is a pain; I have to make sure Word XP is open BEFORE clicking on the file!

For viewing there are Office Viewers instead of Office giants

Google for "change default programs". You'll find simple solutions for your Windows version.
On my system I assigned .doc & .docx to the MS Word Viewer, because this is faster. And it is more safe regarding docs with hidden malicious content.
If I want to edit a Word file, I use right-click and "Open with ..." Later on, that file is in Word's "Last used docs" list anyway.
MS provides free Excel & Powerpoint Viewers as well.
