Hi everybody,
I'm working as a Graphic Designer in a translation company and wanted to share a tip for translating Quicksilver 3.0 documents in russian.
We used to convert .ildoc into .ascii and then in .rtf files, in order to do the job.
Now, with Quicksilver 3.0 and Trados 2007 Suite, I have a font problem with russian.
Caracters have to be changed into a russian font (like Helios). But my client doesn't want Helios, he wants Arial, which for an obscur reason, doesn't work (caracters aren't russian ones [cyrillic])...
I searched for an age before I found the solution (that's why I need to share it).
You have to use the STagger for Interleaf, but the files need to be converted into .ttx (instead of .rtf).
You translate in TagEditor and save as .ttx again when it's done (and then, you use Stagger again to make your ASCII file back).
If the font used in the original document wasn't Arial (or a unicode font), you need to change it into Arial, and this time, things work. You have a cyrillic text.
