¿How can I enable the Java Virtual Machine for Internet Explorer version 6?

The option "Enable Java" does not appear when I select : Tools >> Internet options >> Advanced options.
I use Windows XP, Home Edition, version 5.1.

Do you have one installed? It could be either Microsoft's Java VM, or Sun's Java Runtime environment. The latter can be obtained at java.sun.com.

Yes, I installed JVM ... Apr 10, 2005

and then I restarted the PC. But the option to enable Java still does not appear on the menu.

What is the best Internet place to download the Microsoft's Java version?

There's a checkbox for Sun's JRE which says 'use me' in advanced properties. You can enable Java console to get a debugging window when viewing Java applets. You can also look at Java-related security tab settings, but left at defaults they are unlikely to make java unusable.
