I was born and raised in Greece until the age of 17. I got my C2 English Proficiency Qualification while I was still living in Greece and after that I moved to Switzerland and learnt (still learning) German.
I am currently doing my Bachelor in Translation and Interpreting at the Euro Akademie in Bamberg (Germany) with focus in English, German and Spanish. There:
we learn to transmit the message from language to another and back (written and orally)
we produce technical translations and specialize in specific topics such as business and administration, social science and economics
I also have a degree as a secretary with focus on foreign correspondence (Euro Akademie Nürnberg, Germany). There I learnt how to:
handle foreign correspondence and take on simple translation and interpreting tasks
carry out general office tasks using the latest office technology
organize and manage appointsment
Additionally, I also have 2 additional years of experience in translation from the previous school also with focus in business, social science and economics.
As you can tell, I really enjoy learning languages, which is why I chose this field. Apart from the languages mentioned here, I also have good levels of Spanish and French and I am currently learning Japanese. To explain further, I able to quickly grasp new concepts.
I may not have professional experience in translating, the university is providing us, however, with enough translations every week to hone our skills.
I have a particular interest in translating social and economic texts from German and English into Greek.
