We are dealing with masive technical drawings with lots of non editable text full of tiny words.
Is there any ways to handle this in order not to miss a single word in the translation?

With some pictures, you can use OCR software, but you would need to select all the words manually so that the software doesn't treat parts of your drawings as text.
If the drawings are really not editable in any program or after converting them to another format (for some strange reason converting some images to PDF may make the text selectable), I suggest asking translators to make bilingual tables or having the DTP people to do that in advance.

First of all, welcome to ProZ.com! I've changed the status of your posting to "on-topic" which will increase your chances of getting the help you need.
As to your question, I am not aware of any easy way to deal with a large amount of non-editable text. Even OCR after manually selecting each text would be quite complicated if you are dealing with vertical texts, etc.

Unless the client specifically demands it, there is no obligation (in my view) on the part of the translator to create a facsimile text (though I try to imitate the original formatting to a reasonable degree on the assumption that the client will like that). If word counts in your quote is based source texts, translating non-editable texts is an extra job you can bill by hourly fee. I made comments to a Power Point translated file on some texts in graphic I could not translate due to lost links. That job was on medical lecture of AIDS. And the non-editable texts are disease names in Latin which is better left as is (translation can confuse readers badly). I commented in details and submitted the file to client.

may I ask the question about the native file format for the drawing. Is it DXF or do you simply get the drawing on paper? How do you extract the strings?
