A file was sent to me that had been created in .docx format. I use Word 2003 and when the file was converted it became uneditable.
Is there any way to make the file editable? I have tried saving it in a number of different formats to no avail.
Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Thank you
Maybe you should try to send the original file to someone who does have MS Word 2007. Then, the person who opens the file can convert it in Word by choosing the Save as MS Word 2003 file, and your problem will be solved.
I could help you out if you like, and if you're willing to send the file, in case it's not something confidential.

Actually in the end the solution was very simple. The document had been protected and all I had to do was to go to Tools and Unprotect document!
Thanks for your help in any case.
Steve
