Is it possible, somehow to work and edit in Powerpoint Viewer even though you do not use any CAT-tool? For instance: a series of images with some text that need to be translated. I reallyneed some support on this.

There's no "MS" in the forum title though, am I right? (Reference to other office suites is permitted.)
The Powerpoint viewer is just that - a viewer. If you want to edit Powerpoint files without buying Powerpoint, why not use OpenOffice.org? The name is the same as the web site, and it's free.

Hi Marc,
you are right. This forum is about all Office applications, not only MS.
The forum description is the following:
"Discussion related to Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and alternative Office suites"
Any discussion or issue regarding OpenOffice, or any other office productivity suite, is appropriate and welcome.

Regrettably - No.

There's been some great and no doubt useful discussion of the forum - so here's the answer to the original question.
Annika - sorry but no, you cannot use Powerpoint Viewer to edit. It is just that - a viewer. Cannot edit/translate with it.
To translate it you will need to open the file for editing - preferably with Powerpoint or your favorite CAT tool supporting Powerpoint.
