Somewhere on this forum,there was a reference to a website which allowed to upload large files. Could somebody remind me of that link. I don't seem to find it.

Roamdrive and Savefile Jan 12, 2006

For storage, you can also use Roamdrive that allows you to upload files to your gmail account without the 10Mb limit.

For sharing I use Savefile It works like yousend.it but it lets you organize the files you're sharing, allowing you to upload one file or one proyect with sever... See more

You have tons of options. Like Endre said, I wouldn't upload anything sentive.
