For all usual tasks the standard version will be sufficient.
Here you can directly compare the functions of Acrobat Standard and Acrobat Professional.

If you only wish to create PDF files a standard version is certainly sufficient.

PDF conversion is one thing and making comments on PDF. What else is usually for this software in translation jobs?

Need it for general required works for translation using this software.
