English term

rush toward

English to French Tech/Engineering Automotive / Cars & Trucks Code EOBD, remèdes
Contexte : Keep parking brake applied. Unless the vehicle will rush *toward*.

Proelec Oct 18, 2007:
Perhaps "Weird.." is similar to a repetition command ???
Nathalie White Oct 18, 2007:
sorry about this... my laptop is gone mad, did not mean to spam you all.

I agree with Tony M, it seems like the English is a bit dodgy. My Irish husband just had a look at it and he did not get it. It looks like the sentence should have been: 'Keep parking brake applied, else the vehicle will rush forward'. Weird..

I agree with Tony. I think they probably mean "or the vehicle will move forward".

Tony M Oct 18, 2007:
Sounds like very dodgy English to me! I can't decide if it might be a typo for 'forward', or if the EN is REALLY bad, and it means 'Unless there is a fast-moving oncoming vehicle'. What's the EN like generally, do you know what the source language is?
