Pour l'embrayage a friction: c'est un slipper, une sorte d'amortisseur de couple,lors des sauts, passage difficile... il permet de preserver la transmission ...

Tout à fait mais c'est l'usage le plus fréquent - dans le domaine du modélisme je traduis la plupart du temps par "embrayage à friction" ou tout simplement "embrayage" - à voir suivant sur quel type de véhicule c'est utilisé (contexte)
