Spanish term

"F"

Spanish to English Other Education / Pedagogy Transcript
I am translating a transcript of Instituto Regiomontano de Hoteleria, A.C. - Mexico, from Spanish into English. Course: Travel Agency Management. The transcript is a table with several columns: Subjects, "F", Exam Calls, Grades. I don't know and I cannot find the meaning of "F". I thought it could be "folio", but the student didn't attend all the subjects and the "F" column has numbers although the subjects weren't attended. The numbers are only 3 and 4 as if they were credits. Any ideas?

Thank you in advance for your help.
Paola

Lorenab23 you had a great idea! I think "facultad" is the correct meaning of "F" in this case. Please post it as an answer! Thank you.
lorenab23 May 22, 2012:
A shot in the dark could F be facultad and 3 and 4 be codes for the particular facultad, for example 3 for facultad de sciencias and 4 for facultad de letras? Just guessing
Paola Prodan (asker) May 22, 2012:
The columns are: Subjects, F, Exam Calls. The Exam Calls column is divided into Ordinary, Grade, Extraordinary, Grade. Thank you.
Domingo Trassens May 22, 2012:
Please, how many columns include the table? What are the other columns that you didn't reference in you presentation? Thank you

Given your explanation perhaps "F" is "faltas"?

Not Mexico but:

Hoja "Asistencia": D significa "días lectivos o sesiones por tema" F significa "Faltas de asistencia" y R significa "Retrasos".

Paola: Could the student not have been absent for 3 or 4 classes of the corresponding subject during a given term or academic year?
Note from asker:
I don't think it may refer to "faltas" because all the numbers of the "F" column are 3 and 4 and there are numbers in that column for subjects not attended by the student. Thanks anyway!
Sorry! I forgot to mention an important detail. The student attended 1 semester out of 8 semesters of the course. The semesters not attended are crossed out, but there appear numbers in the "F" column. Like already printed numbers although the student has still not attended those subjects.
