@ J-M Yes, if there were genuinely any difference between them — however, from the way the source text is worded here, it seems they are really and truly referring to one and the same device.

I've just been struggling to translate a huge technical document where they used 4 different terms; when I queried it with the customer, he admitted they were just 4 different names for the same thing! Grrr!

It could be argued that one is used to protect against blows to the face and the other for preventing contact with biological or chemical agents.

It seems... ...as if the two terms are really being used here as exact synonyms, so I wouldn't worry about trying to differentiate them.
