Dans un texte financier donnant des conseils pour bénéficier au mieux des échanges sur les marchés boursiers, on trouve l'expression "to kick-in and generate a loss" dans la phrase :
"Even though we believe it is not possible to always sell at the highest, we notice that an emotional investor is more likely than none to sell near the lowest. [...] In order to reduce these emotions to kick-in and generate a loss, it is possible to implement strategies only based on quantitative data."
J'ai du mal à voir à quoi correspond ce "kick-in" ici.

Perhaps something along the lines of: « Afin de minimiser le déclenchement des ces émotions qui entraînerait une perte, ... »
I can think of 2 interpretations, both of which assume that the EN is less than perfect:
1) The emotions kick-in, i.e. start to have an effect; for it to mean this, the text is grammatically wrong, it ought to be soemthing like "...in order to reduce the extent to which these emotions kick in..."
2) It is the emotional investor who kicks in; doesn't make a lot of sense ot me, really, unless it could be understood in the sense of 'to react' — but to have this meaning, the EN would really take quite a bit of re-writing!
