: Aunque en español, debería usarse el genérico "Técnico en ...blablablá... árboles frutales". "Supervisor" creo que siempre se usa en puestos de mando sobre otras personas, no plantas ni animales. Saludos.

Creo que en este caso, suena extremadamente raro "supervisor de árboles frutales" (para mi es claro que tree fruit es un error de redacción, al tratarse de un "Agricultural Program"). Hay un montón de ejemplos en español con "técnico en... " (como técnico en silvicultura, aunque este es un campo algo distinto). Sí, he oído "supervisor de fruta" pero esto es en control de calidad, es la gente que por ejemplo quita la fruta golpeada o que no tiene buena apariencia antes de empacarla. Y no es lo mismo.

En cuanto a "supervisor", está bien usado: "Apl. a pers." significa que es la palabra "supervisor" la que se aplica a personas, igual que en "conseguidor", por ejemplo. Esta es la entrada del DRAE: 1. adj. Que consigue. Apl. a pers., u. m. c. s. No sé si estoy interpretando bien lo que dices, abe(L) ;-)
Mira la entrada del DRAE para supervisor (sólo se aplica a supervisar personas, o el genérico "supervisor de producción", pero aquí queda muy raro):
