-- Fernando Pessoa
To the best of my knowledge, "atirar" (throw) is a transitive verb, so I'm wracking my brain to understand its use as intransitive in the last stanza. Or is still transitive with some sort of ellipsis to where the object was omitted? If so, what would the likely object be?

Register: poetic
PS: I found one instance of "atirar" as intransitive but it has a different meaning: Atirou ao ar/na porta/no alvo.] (He/She shot in the air /at the door/on the target.) https://aulete.com.br/atirar

Note from asker:
Foi o que também pensei. :-) Obrigado, Cláudio. |
Como "himself" já aparece duas vezes na estrofe, pensei em "throws cloak and self onto the road". O que você acha? |

Eu acho que estás no caminho certo, atira, joga, 'throws'.
Lá na minha instrução primária eu diria ’quem atira atira alguma coisa, complemento direto’, se atirasse a capa a alguém, nesse caso seria complemento indireto .
Portanto fiquemo-nos por
“throws the cloak to the street”
throws the cloak to the street - joga a capa para a rua - https://context.reverso.net/übersetzung/englisch-portugiesis...
