English term

dollar sense

English to French Marketing Automation & Robotics Brochure de vente de robots laveurs
“Dollar Sense” is No Longer a Simple Equation
No matter how cool a new technology or how impressive the capabilities, smart hospitals and clinics never make an investment unless it makes “dollar sense.” But when it comes to weighing the costs of clean, healthcare organizations are facing a new reality: the value of clean is more complex than ever — and no longer a simple matter of labor productivity. In fact, if you’re looking at labor costs as the sole focus of a robotic cleaning program, you’re missing significant value.

Il semblerait que "dollar sense" est une expression courante en anglais, mais comment la rendre en français ?
Merci !

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Thank you everyone for your answers, but I decided to change the phrase and translate:
"L'argent" n'est plus seulement affaire de mathématiques
The meaning of "dollar sense" is explained below in the text, when it says: (...) les organisations intelligentes ne font jamais d'investissements à moins que cela ne soit logique sur le plan financier.
Whitout a clear equivalent to the expression "dollar sense", I don't think it's useful to translate litterally
Emmanuella Sep 8, 2020:
Titre : Faire preuve de logique sur. le plan. financier?

Isabella Briganti (asker) Sep 8, 2020:
Yes in the second case (unless it makes dollar sense) it's more easy and I could translate: à moins que cela ne soit "logique sur le plan financier"/"financièrement sensé" - but in the first case (dollar sense is no longer a simple equation)? Thank you
Tony M Sep 8, 2020:
@ Asker You really need to consider it parsed as "makes 'dollar sense'" — 'si c'est logique sur le plan financier' etc.

English term (edited): “Dollar Sense” is No Longer a Simple Equation

décider de la justification financière d'un investissement ne se résume plus à une équation simple

I can't see how to translate directly "dollar sense" into something as short.

The meaning is roughly "la justification financière d'un investissement"

or literally:

Est-ce que le jeu en vaut la chandelle?

Est-ce qu'on va dépenser beaucoup pour un résultat plutôt maigre?

etc
