This is something like a device to measure voltage of an alternator.
However, I cannot find the proper Japanese translation.
Does it mean "アンプメーター(amp meter)" or "アンメーター(ammeter)"?
I am not quite sure.

日本語のサイトでは「アンピメーター」では検索できませんでした。
オルタネーターの電圧を計測するらしいものですが、適訳が見つかりません。
「アンプメーター」か「アンメーター」かと思ったのですが、用途が違っていそうです。
そのまま「アンピメーター」で訳してしまっていいのか確信がありません。
どうぞよろしくお願いします。

amp meter (ammeter)ではないでしょうか？でしたら、電圧ではなく、電流ですね。

amp meter と ammeterは同じものを示しています（電流を測る装置）。amp meterは発音しにくいので、ammeterが一般的なようですが、amp clampという言い方もあります。また、ampimeterはおそらく発音通りに書いたものでしょう（正式ではない言い方みたいですね）。

| ありがとうございます。調べていたらたまたまこのような質問サイトがありまして(http://community.preloved.co.uk/forums/discussion/62882/99-corsa-17-diesel-battery-dying.html)、その中で回答者の一人が"Take it to a garage they have a ampimeter which will check how much voltage the alternator is kickin out when the engine is running"と回答しているのです。Informalな言い方なのかもしれませんね。("voltage"と言及しているところが気になりますが・・・。) |

Please see this website (http://community.preloved.co.uk/forums/discussion/62882/99-c... where one of the answerer remarks, "Take it to a garage they have a ampimeter which will check how much voltage the alternator is kickin out when the engine is running." I wonder if an "ampimeter" is a casual way of expressing "amp meter"?
