Looking for Japanese girlfriend

English to Japanese Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters Religion
I need the translation (into Japanese characters) of this saying. What I have so far is ??? ? ?? but I am missing two characters.
The original can be found here:

I need the answer typed in Japanese characters (although I don稚 speak the language) since that way I can copy them and paste them in Illustrator

Discussion

casperboy77 Jan 27, 2013:
I also need a little help with this translation. I also need help with this translation but need to know the correct and proper way that this should be written. This is also for a t-shirt design.

The t-shirt that I am trying to recreate says: 日本人彼女募集中

According to Google that uses the word "help" instead of: Wanted. Would it be more correct to say: 日本人彼女者募集 ?

Now I am making another shirt for females to wear. Would this appear proper (and humorous)?: 日本人彼氏者募集 (Wanted Japanese Boyfriend).

Thanks for the help with this. In order to balance out the t-shirt design the number of characters are important as well. So longer or shorter phrases won't work very good. I just hope that this translation would be considered funny and also correctly translated. Thanks again!

日本人の彼女求む

I made it as concise as the original, i.e., "looking for Japanese girlfriend" instead of "I am looking for a Japanese girlfriend." This is assuming you mean a "girlfriend," not a "female friend."

Oh, OK, I saw your website. Um, so you just want to reproduce what¥'s on the T-shirt? That¥'s 日本人彼女募集中, or ¥"Wanted: Japanese girlfriend.¥"
Peer comment(s):

agree Kurt Hammond : Yes, what came to mind for me also was the 募集中 one which is on T-shirts and otherwise.

disagree Mike Maynerich : I think this expression is too direct that it is off-putting.

The asker just wanted the T-shirt saying reproduced, and this is what it said. (Pls. check his web site)

日本女性の友達を探しています

There are several option for answers to your question. The title answer, I assume is most standard. There are few more which I'll show you here. No order of importance is indicated in numbering ... just few expressions that came to my mind. I believe you wish to express your sincere intent, so expressions I have shown are on the safe side. See below. I'm also giving you translation of each one, so you would know the nuiances. I already said the one above is most direct and standard.
By the way there is nothing in the link. Moreover I am not going to respond you personally, as this is a public forum.

Option 2.
日本人のガールフレンドを探しています。
I'm looking for Japanese girlfriend. (Note "girlfriend" is phonetically expressed instead of translated one.)
Option 3.
日本女性とお友達になりたいと思います。
I wish to become a friend to Japanese lady (ladies).
Option 4.
日本女性と知り合いになりたいと思います。
I want to become acquainted with Japanese lady (ladies).

GOOD LUCK!

Articles ¥"a¥" is omitted as I don¥'t know whether you are looking for one or several girlfriend(s).
Peer comment(s):

agree Mike Maynerich : I feel your renditions have less 違和感.

Additional note

This is Susan, "first person" who answered your question. No I did not go to the website as the link is only half way highlighted. If I did I would not have answered your question. What the Tshirt says truly violate my sense of integrity.
