Discussion

Will Matter Aug 4, 2005:
"The Amityville Horror" is an American film.
Non-ProZ.com Aug 4, 2005:
The movie is "The Amityville Horror". A holland film.
KathyT Aug 4, 2005:
BTW, do you need the answer spelled out in romaji (English characters)?
KathyT Aug 3, 2005:
Also, you should put the 2nd sentence in a separate KudoZ question.
KathyT Aug 3, 2005:
Which country does the movie originate from? Are these phrases spoken by a non-native English speaker? Do you want the translation to be in Japanese that has similar grammatical mistakes? (ie. sounds just as bad in Japanese?)
Non-ProZ.com Aug 3, 2005:
Actually, it's a dialogue in a movie. If you don't mind, could you please translate both sentences? Thx!
Will Matter Aug 3, 2005:
This is not good English, it sounds funny and does not make sense. Suggest using "I'll do anything to make you happy" or some other equivalent phrase.

あなたを幸せにするために、生涯をささげます

As willmatter pointed out, this is not a good English. However you explained this is a dialogue. In spoken language grammer is often neglected, so this is OK as is.
If you want me translate willmatter's suggestion, I will end up in same expression (answer).
Nonetheless, this is formal expression, so you can say more coloquially like ...
僕は君を一生幸せにしてあげる。(assuming speaker is a male, which is most of the cases.)

Willmatter-san, thank you.
agree Can Altinbay : まったくそうですね。では、キャシーさんの「ひどい日本語」版はどういったらよいのでしょうか。

「俺はずっとおめえさんにべったんこ」なんちゃって。でもこれ結構文法あってるからキャシーさんのご希望には沿わないかしらん?
neutral Mikito Oki : これって何か、幸せのためにこの人を放っておく様な感じは含まれてないのでしょうか? like letting go & pursue her/his own happiness???
