Una persona, al referirse a sí misma, declara:

"I am Pennsylvania Dutch, which means I was raised in a rather strict environment..."
Se refiere a su ascendencia, obviamente, pero desconozco como traducirlo.

Menonita

Existen diversos grupos y el término "Menonita" no los engloba a todos; es más, el término "Pennsylvania Dutch" también es un poco impreciso.

Aunque puede implicar algo de imprecisión, creo que nada se pierde y mucho se gana con el término "Menonita" , pues en México se entiende y por lo tanto da una idea de los antecedentes de la persona. Eso, porque en México existe población Menonita (Edo. de Chihuahua) y además en otros países latinoamericanos.

Sugiero el término ya que se trata de un grupo o un "estilo de vida" conocido más o menos bien en ciertas zonas, tal vez menos en otras, pero de todos modos ampliamente difundido.

Cabe señalar igualmente que no eran holandeses sino alemanes, y que cualquier referencia al estado de Pensilvania no le ayuda nada al lector en español, pues no la entiende.

disagree lilfurquet : dice que es de esa comunidad pero no que conserve activamente las tradiciones (puede que sí, pero no lo dice). Todo depende de como sigue el texto, claro. "Desciendo de los alemanes de Pen.../ Menonitas" puede ser una opción (ver más contexto)

true but "Deutsch" to a monolingual English speaker sounds more like "Dutch" than "German" hence the confusion I believe The culture is actually Amish.
