La frase entera dice:

Me cuesta entender el sentido de esta frase por el "though" que une ambas afirmaciones, pareciera como si dijera "pero" o "aunque", y en ese caso la frase quedaría así:
Unionistas y republicanos siguen siendo adversarios antes que socios en Irlanda del Norte, "aunque" con las matanzas se ha piadosamente hecho de todo menos pararlas.
Tienen alguna sugerencia distinta? Otra interpretación? Muchas gracias.
