you're on

English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
Hello everyone,

A TV presenter and a guest are cooking on a TV show.

SADIE: Okay, good I have to warn you though, I can't even wrap a Christmas present.

JULIEANNA: I can't either and it doesn't have to be pretty as long as it tastes good

SADIE: Oh, well then, **you're on** sister.

JULIEANNA: That's gonna look so pretty, it's gonna be fine, okay,

Thank you.

I agree / let's get on with it

It's a sign that she's willing to do what she's been asked to do.

let us continue

if person A challenges person B to do something, and person B accepts the challenge, they can say "you're on" = "the challenge is on" = "let's do this".

I accept the bet.

In the USA, when one person says, "You're on" it is usually preceded by some sort of bet. What this term means here is, I accept the bet and let us now see who wins.

I assume the previous conversation had to do with who could cook the best Christmas cookies or some such.
